The cold evening did nothing to surpress the joy of the Newborn Christ present in the hearts and minds of the Holy Resurrection faithful. The Eve of the Nativity saw a welcoming of two new converts into the Orthodox Faith, before entering into the "great anticipation" that is the Christmas Eve Vigil. Gathering outside for the Badnjak Service, the faithful also each received a portion of the tree to adorn their icons at home.
The faithful were greated by Fr. Christopher, who reminded them that there is but one way to give thanks for the Gift of the Newborn Christ--and that is to live a life in Him! This means to dedicate oneself to Christ in work, in family, and in prayer--not just to offer oneself every so often.
On Christmas morning, all gathered in the Joy of the Lord. Many received the Holy Body and Blood of Christ, truly making real the "Incarnation" which this very feast celebrates. After the Divine Liturgy, Fr. Christopher and his family hosted the parish for a Bozic Open House at the Church Hall. Christ's Loving Fellowship was continued thorughout the day as the parish celebrated His Birth.
