The Holy Resurrection Parish Hall has seen wonderful festivity and gathering throughout many years--but it had also seen better days. All that would change, however, thanks to the Stewardship of the parish faithful!
The years had been tough on the walls of the hall, with many holes and cracks in need of repair. An estimate from a local painter suggested a bid of almost $4,000 to repair the walls and paint the entire hall! Instead, a group of parishioners got together, with the blessing of the Annual Meeting and Parish Council, and performed the necessary repairs and painted at a much lower cost. Since the labor was donated, the entire project consisted of only the cost of materials-- about $500. That is a savings of almost $3,500 for something that desperately needed to be done!
Truly this is the power and effect of Christian Love in a community. Truly this is Stewardship in action!
And, as with everything we give to God, He blesses and immediately gives it back to us. In this case, old bonds were renewed, and new bonds of fellowship formed. There is nothing so powerful as to witness to the Love of Christ in action!
We give thanks to God for all of those who helped with their time and talents. The hall was prepped and painted (two coats) in only 14 hours.
Be sure to join us for our next improvement project, as we prepare for our 100th Anniversary in 2016!
